The curry life awards is a competition highlighting the huge curry industry in UK but also abroad. Since 8 years back the Curry LIfe Magazine have been handing out prizes for best curry restaurants in various parts of the country; upcoming chefs as well as well established restaurants.

This year the award took place at the Royal Landcaster Hotel in London and the evening was filled with acrobatic performances, stand-up shows, speaches and of course the prize announcements.

Shanti Ultimat was given the only international restaurant prize for the night; "Best Bengali restaurant in Sweden". The Curry Life awards consider Sweden as one of the best European countries, besides the UK, in delivering hight quality Bengali food.

"We are so happy to have received this prize. Ultimat is all about genuin Bengali food, food that you can otherwise only find in Bangladesh. I love to be able to let the Swedish people to experience this food culture for real."- Nahid Hassan, owner of Shanti.
